No compensation for demolished structures within public land-Gumba

Minister of Lands, Deus Gumba reiterates that there will be no compensation for structures demolished by the government. Gumba told Umunthu FM, emphasizing that the ministry will not hesitate to penalize anyone who attempts to rebuild after a demolition, warning that hefty penalties will follow. He explains that any infrastructure that has been demolished was likely constructed without following proper legal procedures, therefore, it does not qualify for compensation. He further states that the ministry is working diligently to ensure that all future developments adhere to proper planning regulations.
