Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Jessie Kabwira has urged graduates from Malawi Adventist University (MAU) to embrace innovation and apply their skills to contribute meaningfully to the country’s development.
Dr. Kabwira made the remarks during MAU’s 15th graduation ceremony held at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, where she presided over the event.
She emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting youth-driven initiatives, noting the critical role of young people as drivers of human capital development in line with the Malawi 2063 Vision.
“The future of this nation lies in your hands. Be innovative, be proactive, and use your education to solve real-world challenges,” said Dr. Kabwira, encouraging the graduates to think beyond traditional career paths.
On his part, MAU Vice Chancellor Professor Venon Kabambe called on the graduates to be true ambassadors of the institution by using the knowledge and skills they have acquired to improve key sectors of the economy.
“As you step into the world, remember that your education is a tool for transformation. Apply what you have learned and make a difference in your communities and beyond,” he said.
A total of 912 students graduated in various programs offered by the university, marking a significant milestone in MAU’s continued contribution to higher education in Malawi.
